How the trial works
Every trial runs 30 days with every feature included. The standard App Store path does not require a payment method; creator-link trials start through Stripe on the web and require a card. If you don’t subscribe, your saved data stays viewable in permanent read-only mode, and you can subscribe later to resume logging.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
A creator link opens Stripe checkout on the web, where a card starts the 30-day trial and creates your account. Sign in with the same account on iPhone within 27 days to activate Salt and keep your $49.99/year creator rate. If you don’t, you won’t be charged — Salt ends the web trial before billing. You can subscribe later through the App Store at the standard price.
Frequently asked questions
What does the trial include?
The full 30-day trial includes everything in the paid plan. No features are gated during the trial. After 30 days, if you haven’t subscribed, the app moves to permanent read-only mode — you can still view your saved data, then resume logging by subscribing.
Do I need to enter a payment method to start?
It depends on how you start. The standard App Store trial does not require a payment method. A creator link starts the 30-day trial through Stripe on the web, where a card is required. Sign in with the same account on iPhone within 27 days to activate Salt and keep your $49.99/year creator rate. If you don’t, you won’t be charged — Salt ends the web trial before billing. You can subscribe later through the App Store at the standard price.
What happens to my data if I don’t subscribe?
Your data stays in your account, encrypted. You can keep viewing your saved history. New logging, schedule changes, insights generation, and bloodwork or Apple Health imports pause until you subscribe. We never delete your data without your explicit request.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes. You can switch billing at any time from your subscription settings. Switching mid-cycle prorates the difference.
How do creator codes work?
Some creators and coaches share links that unlock a creator annual offer. Their link opens Stripe checkout on the web, where you enter a card to start a 30-day trial and create your account. Sign in with the same account on iPhone within 27 days to activate Salt and keep your $49.99/year creator rate. If you don’t, you won’t be charged — Salt ends the web trial before billing. You can subscribe later through the App Store at the standard price.
Is my data really encrypted?
Yes. Compound, dose, bloodwork, and protocol data is encrypted on your device using a master key derived from your password. Salt’s servers store only the encrypted ciphertext; we cannot read your data even with full database access. The tradeoff: if you forget your recovery phrase, we literally cannot restore your data.
Do you offer refunds?
If you subscribe and decide within 14 days that Salt isn’t right for you, reply to the welcome email and we’ll refund your most recent payment. After 14 days, refunds are evaluated case by case.
